Matariki Reflections with Multicultural Youth Nelson Tasman

The rising of Matariki in late June or early July marks the beginning of the Maori Lunar calendar. It is a time for celebrating the year that has passed, remembering those who have passed on, and celebrating new beginnings. We were honoured to have members of the Nelson Whakatū community share their reflections with us this Matariki. Thank you Multicultural Youth Nelson Tasman and Victory Community Centre for your mahi and support bringing this celebration to life!

For this Matariki project, Multicultural Youth Nelson Tasman (MYNT) and Top of the South Neighbourhood Support captured reflections and future hopes for the community on paper, these messages along with polaroid pictures were hung up in a tree for all to see.
